Recruitment Privacy Statement

Eastland Generation Ltd and its related entities (“we”, “our”, or “us”) collect personal information through our careers website and recruitment processes for the purpose of considering applicants for employment and managing recruitment-related activities.

By submitting an application or registering your interest in employment opportunities with us, you acknowledge that your personal information will be collected, used, stored, and disclosed in accordance with this statement and the Privacy Act 2020.

Depending on the role and recruitment stage, we may collect personal information including:

  • CVs, resumes, employment history, and education information
  • qualifications, licences, and certifications
  • referee details and reference information
  • pre-employment check information where relevant to the role, including police vetting
  • medical or fitness-for-work information where relevant to the role or operational requirements
  • recruitment assessment and interview information, including behavioural, competency, aptitude, or psychometric assessments where relevant to the role
  • any other information you choose to provide as part of your application

If you choose not to provide requested information, we may be unable to fully assess your application or progress you through the recruitment process.

You must ensure that information provided to us is accurate, complete, and up to date.

How we collect your information

We collect information directly from you through our careers website, application forms, interviews, correspondence, and recruitment activities.

We may also collect information from:

  • referees
  • recruitment agencies
  • verification and screening providers
  • training or licensing bodies
  • occupational health providers
  • publicly available sources where relevant to the recruitment process

How we use your information

Your information may be used to:

  • assess your suitability for employment
  • communicate with you about recruitment opportunities
  • undertake recruitment, screening, and pre-employment checks
  • verify qualifications, licences, and employment history
  • meet health, safety, operational, site access, security, legal, and compliance requirements

  • support onboarding and employment administration where applicable

If your application is successful, relevant information will become part of your employment record.

Candidate profiles and application information may be retained within our recruitment portal to support future employment opportunities and ongoing candidate engagement. Candidates may update or request removal of their profile or personal information at any time through their account or by contacting us.

We take reasonable steps to ensure personal information is securely managed and retained only for legitimate recruitment, business, legal, and operational purposes.

Disclosure of information

Your information may be shared with authorised personnel and trusted third-party service providers involved in the recruitment or employment process, including:

  • recruitment providers
  • screening and vetting providers
  • occupational health providers
  • training or compliance providers
  • payroll, HR, or technology service providers
  • related entities within Eastland Generation

Storage and protection of information

Your information may be securely stored using trusted third-party recruitment, technology, and data hosting providers. Some service providers we engage may store or process personal information outside New Zealand. We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or inappropriate use. Access to personal information is restricted to authorised personnel and service providers who require access for legitimate recruitment, employment, operational, or business purposes.

When personal information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to securely delete, destroy, or de-identify it in accordance with our record retention, legal, and privacy obligations.
