Operations
  • Develop your career in the renewable energy industry
  • Training and competitive remuneration for the right candidate
  • Based in Kawerau, Bay of Plenty

Now is the time to join Eastland Generation, a specialist renewable energy developer in a phase of rapid growth.

We completed our fourth geothermal power plant, TOPP2, at the end of last year, and have several more in the planning stages. Due to this ongoing expansion, we’re looking for another Geothermal Power Plant Operator.

If you have experience in a technical or operational role - preferably within the energy, manufacturing or mechanical sectors - and are enthusiastic about developing your career in the renewable energy industry, we want to see your CV.

What you’ll be doing

As the newest member of our control room, you will be part of a shift-based team responsible for the safe, reliable operation of Eastland Generation’s geothermal power plants.

  • Maximise generation by operating the plants safely within established parameters.
  • Monitor plant performance, conduct routine maintenance, and ensure compliance with regulatory, environmental and safety standards.
  • Provide support to the asset team, and manage contractor work controls and competencies.
  • Be available to support after-hours work when required.

Who we’re looking for

You will have a relevant tertiary qualification in engineering, mechanical, electrical or similar relevant fields, and at least two years’ practical experience. Our ideal candidate will demonstrate a good understanding of general technical operations.

  • Experience with geothermal power generation systems is beneficial; however, we welcome candidates with strong transferrable knowledge who are keen to learn.
  • A foundational understanding of electrical, controls and instrumentation (C&I), or mechanical systems, is preferred.
  • Proficiency with standard business software applications is essential; knowledge of relevant operational software such as SAP, CMMS or plant monitoring systems is advantageous.
  • Driver’s licence and first aid certificate.

We’ll give you on the job training to become familiar with the systems and processes involved in geothermal generation.

Why join us?

At Eastland Generation, we take pride in creating a high performing workplace where our people feel valued, supported and inspired. We offer a competitive salary and an exceptional range of employee benefits, including a generous insurance package, fitness subsidy, and a day off on your birthday.

You will be based at our control room in Kawerau.
